Dr. Feras Bader is a Consultant Cardiologist in the Heart and Vascular Institute at the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He is also an Associate Professor of Medicine and specializes in the field of Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation.
He had his heart failure and transplant fellowship training at Yale University School of Medicine, and then went to the University of Utah and completed his cardiovascular fellowship in 2006. He joined faculty there in the Division of Cardiology. He served as the Medical Director of the Heart Failure Program at the University of Utah Hospital and the Director of the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship Program. During his time there, he also obtained a Master's Degree in Clinical Investigation.
In late 2012, Dr. Bader took a leave from the University of Utah and helped establish the first multidisciplinary advanced heart failure program in Kuwait. This program culminated in the first successful destination ventricular assist device therapy there. After adding a very valuable regional experience to his experience from the US, he relocated to Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in summer of 2015 to pursue his ambition of building an internationally recognized advanced heart failure and transplant program in the Middle East.

Dr. Houssam Younes is an assistant professor and vascular surgeon at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He highly trained in new minimally invasive endovascular surgery technologies including image-guided and catheter based therapies, and traditional open surgery techniques. He completed his surgical training at Baylor College of Medicine and The University of Texas Medical Branch where he held significant leadership roles and was awarded the Golden Scalpel and Humanism and Excellence in Teaching awards recognizing his outstanding and exemplary residency. He completed his vascular surgery training at the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center and subsequently joined the cardiovascular surgery department as a faculty. During the time he worked at Houston Methodist Hospital he held the position of the director of wound care and hyperbaric therapy clinic and was awarded the Summer Teen Volunteer Program exceptional mentor award.
Dr. Younes’ clinical interest is in complex endovascular therapies and hybrid approaches which extends the range of vascular disease treated and expand the patient population which will benefit from minimally invasive surgery. His research interests include endovascular surgery outcome, vascular imaging, dialysis access and limb salvage. Jacques BUSQUET, MD, is currently coordinator of vascular and endovascular service in the cardio-vascular department of the Clinique Chirurgicale Val d’Or - Saint Cloud, a prestigious private hospital in Paris, France, part of the Foch Foundation Group.
He completed medical school, four-year internship in surgery and six-year residency in cardio-vascular and thoracic surgery at the University of Bordeaux, France. In 1983, he also completed a cardio-vascular research fellowship at the Brompton Hospital, University of London, UK, after winning the research award of the French Society of Cardiology. In 1988, he sets up one of the first endovascular program in France using peripheral
angioplasty and stents, after several post-residency trainings in USA (Los Angeles, Phoenix, New Orleans). Since this time, he is actively involved as speaker, moderator or scientific committee member of the major international vascular and endovascular meetings (Arizona Heart, Charing Cross, CICE , EuroPCR, Ochsner, Mayo, SITE, TCT, VEITH, VIVA). In November 2010, he received the international vascular award “Pionner in Performance” in
New York City during Veith Symposium. Dr Busquet is co-founder in 1992, executive board member and former chairman of international council of the International Society of Endovascular Specialists (ISES), a medical society having 1600 members and represented in 60 countries. He has been President of the Society from February 2011 to February 2013, succeeding Professor Christopher Zarins from Stanford University, USA, and have the current position of ISES International Ambassador.
He is also president of the Val d’Or Vascular Association, a french non-profit organization dedicated to research and development in cardiovascular medicine. Since 2006, under its auspices, he organizes annually in Paris a successful vascular meeting on vascular diseases, cardio-vascular imaging and endovascular technologies open to cardio-vascular specialists. Dr Busquet is member of the French Society of Vascular Surgery, former elected board

Khalid Almuti is a consultant cardiologist at the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and the section director for Cardiac Electrophysiology. He has American Board of Internal Medicine certification in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiovascular disease. He is currently involved as local principal investigator in numerous clinical studies such as the ongoing BEST CLI study to evaluate the effectiveness of open versus endovascular therapies in critical limb ischemia, the IMPERIAL study to evaluate the efficacy of a new drug eluting peripheral stent, the TOBA trial looking at a novel tacking system to treat dissections in the lower extremity arterial circulation, the ROADSTER 2 trial studying a reversal-of-flow cerebral protection system for carotid stenting, the LUCY study looking at the benefits of low profile aortic aneurysm therapy and how it relates to women, and the LIFE study, looking at minimally invasive anesthesia and postoperative care in an aortic fast-track protocol - of which he was the highest enrolling specialist in the United States. He is active in medical device development, and recently performed the first-in-man Ovation iX Abdominal Stent Graft System successfully. Dr. Henao continues to improve patient care by utilizing contemporary technologies and evidence-based vascular practices for patients throughout the Southwest.
